INDIAN U16 BOYS HOOPSTERS SET TO LEAVE FOR NEPAL FOR SABAU-16 CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BOYS JEROME PRINCE TO REPRESENT THE TEAM FROM KERALA BABU DAVIS ASST COACH

Jerome Prince from St Ephremes HSS Mannanam from Kerala to represent  Indian U16 boys for the  team that will play at the Championships for the The South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Qualifiers to be held at Kathmandu in Nepal from 5th to 9th September 2017

Jerome the sports hostel lad is been coached by Prem Kumar from KSSC and Aji Thomas at St Ephermes Sports Hostel Mannanam Kottayam

The Indian team is led by Head Coach Vibhor Brighuvanshi from Uttar Pradesh with assisted by a Keralite now in ICF Chennai Babu Davis.

Mr. Kuldeep Singh Secretary General of the Madhya Pradesh Basketball Association will travel with the contingent to represent the Basketball Federation of India as the Manager.

The team is heading to Kathmandu after an eight days camp at SAI center in Aurangabad

The South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Qualifiers is the biennial regional qualification round to the FIBA Asia Championship. India is Placed along with Nepal and Bhutan in Group A and Group B Comprises of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and  Maldives which will be played on a League cum Knockout Format.

The winning team from these qualifiers participates in the FIBA Asia Championship. India has been a regular SABA powerhouse and is the reigning champ of this region.

India’s first match is on 5th Sept where they will meet Bhutan at1.00 pm and Second one  against Nepal on 7th Sept 2017 at the same time  8th will be the Semi and 9th the finals
