SHANATHAL JYOTHI ALL SET FOR THE STATE YOUTH BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Tiruvalla 23rd April 2019- Shanthal Jyothi Public School Flood light Indoor Stadium is all set for the 36th edition of Kerala State Youth Basketball Championship organised by Idukki District Basketball Association under the auspicious of Kerala Basketball Association .
The four day championship will feature Teams from 14 District in boys and 13 in Girls where this time will be played on a Knock out Basis. Except from Girls in preliminary round there will also be a Losers Knock out of matches.
The championship will officially be Inaugurated on 24th April by Dhronacharya K P Thomas Mash at 5pm.
The Championship will be the Prelude to the 36th Youth National Championship at Coimbatore from 14 to 21 May 2019 .
The State Probable’s for the National Championship will be selected from this championship.
Kottayam in Boys and Thiruvananthapuram in Girls are the reigning champions .
Earlier the championship was to be scheduled at St Marys Polytechnic College Valliyode Palakkad from 11th to 15th May and has to be played on a League cum Knock out basis has to be preponed due to the announcement of dates of Youth National Championship for Boys and Girls by Basketball Federation of India at Coimbatore from 14th to 21st May 2019.
The Idukki DBA came willing to host the Championship at Shanthal Jyothi Public School Flood light Indoor Stadium at Muttom within a short notice when at a time Palakkad DBA has expressed their inability to host the same before the Nationals as the Institution they planned to conduct the State Championship are having with their exams going on over there.
