60th Senior State Basketball Championship for Men and Women GVHSS Flood Lit Stadium Kanhangad
Kozhikode women entered the semi-final as they beat Kannur 35-20 and will take on the winners of Thiruvanthapram and Kottayam while Thrissur beat Alapuzha 47-15 to meet the winners of Kollam and Palakkad in the semi-final here for the 60th Senior State Basketball Championship for Men and Women at the twin Basketball courts of the GVHSS Flood Lit Stadium here at Kanhangad..the men quarter-final will take on Monday morning and all semi-finals will play in the evening
In men division Host Kasargod along with defending Champion Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alapuzha, Kottayam, Kozhikode and Kannur completed the Quarter Final Line-up
On the third day league matches in women section defending champion Thiruvananthapuram had no difficulty in defeating Alapuzha 54-16 to top Group A while Kollam with veteran stars Anjana SS and Soniya defeated Ernakulam 53-32 to make themselves qualify for the quarter final along with Kozhikode from Group D, and from Group C Palakkad and Kannur and from C Thrissur and Kottayam completes the lineup of Quarter-final Complete.
In men division, two exciting matches in Group B were the last year runner up Thiruvananthapuram lost an exciting to Kozhikode with the score 66-65 in a match which went on for two extra periods and top the group while in another group match Kottayam beat Kollam 78-58 to make the quarter final
