NBA the organisers of the World’s best basketball league in America, has started   a  three-day advanced training at Kottayam St ephrmemes campus on  April 3rd afternoon , 4th Morning and evening and finishing on 5th Morning   2019, by American National Basketball Association (NBA) coaches.

After its comprehensive reliance foundation Jr NBA youth initiative in Kerala ,  20 boys and 20 Girls who were selected for this Kerala tryouts from over 300 schools from the regional competitions held in Kozhikode, Kottayam, Trivandrum and Kochi in January and February 2019.This Under-14 Kerala  cagers who were at  Kottayam have the quality training by the NBA international coaches  lead by Marc Pulles who is in charge of NBA Academy  operation in India  and the Jr  NBA coaches  Sarah Gailer from USA and Carlo Paloma from Spain conducted as part of the by Reliance Foundation junior NBA programme

 The Players on the first day went through gear distribution and measurement details and some icebreaker competitions and interacted with each others to  Know each other as they assembled from different places.The second day went through  with  various basketball drills like – positional drills, shooting, ball handling, defence hot shots, free throws, along with scrimmage games to test their playing strengths and abilities  In the evening the players  were divided into group of four and 5 on 5 games were played

After the end of these try-outs, a 10-member Kerala team in both the boys and girls category will fly over to Noida to  compete in the 12-team NBA National Basketball Championship scheduled to be played at NBA India’s Noida Academy in the end of April which  will select the Indian Team to Travel over to Jr NBA World Championship in America
