60th Senior State Basketball Championship for Men and Women GVHSS Flood Lit Stadium Kanhangad
Defending champions Thiruvananthapuram will take on Palakkad in the women division which will be a repeated last year while I men division defending champion Ernakulum will take on Kozhikode in the Final of the of the 60th Senior State Basketball Championship for Men and Women at the twin Basketball courts of the GVHSS Flood Lit Stadium here at Kanhangad.
In men section 1st Men semi-final the fight between two professional sides ended up Ernakulum the team which had major participation from Customs and central excise defeated Thiruvananthapuram contribution from KSEB 49-45 while in the second semi-final it was a fight between the two younger sides ended up with Kozhikode making a final in the senior division after a long interval defeated, Kottayam with the score 54-47
In the women division, Thiruvananthapuram which had in the rank three internationals Jeena Stephy and Anjana defeated Kozhikode n63-34 while the second semifinal Palakkad defeated Thrissur 53-43 to reach the final
Earlier In the quarter final matches, Thriuvanthaurm women defeated Kottayam 58-41 while in an exciting women quarterfinal Pallakad has to fight against Kollam before winning the matches at69-53
In men division quarterfinal matches defending Champion Ernakulum defeated Kasargod 72-59, Thiruvanthapuram beat Pathanamthitta 42-22, Kottayam beat Alapuzha 67-54, Kozhikode beat Thrissur 69-56 to complete the Semi-final Lin- up
