JR NBA WEEKEND FESTIVAL CONDUCTED AT GIRIDEEPAM SCHOOL KOTTAYAM

More than 600 kids from Kottayam, Pathanamthitta turned out for the Reliance Foundation and the NBA’s this year first Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA Weekend Festival, an extension of the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA programme, on Tuesday 24th 2017, at the Girideepam Bethany Indoor Stadium

The Weekend Festival is a mini basketball skills challenge for kids U-12 years of age.This was one of the 18 events that will run across the 11 centers during the course of the program in India.

The enthusiastic children introduced by NBA coaches to five basic basketball skills stations: passing, dribbling, shooting, footwork, and game-play. The camp was led by Vic President of NBA Asia Carlos Barocca (Portugal), Jedh from USA done in two sessions.

Kids participate in multiple basketball based skill challenges will acquire points/scores while each kid will receive an individual score card for their performances in each of their challenges. The Top 20 performers based on their scores will play a RF Jr. NBA All-Star game and got the NBA merchandise

For more attraction this year we had

1. Basketball Arcade Concept as you Know Shooting is the most looked-forward to act in basketball gameplay. This setup will enable people to experience and test their shooting skills. The task of this station will be to make maximum points in a minute. Top performers win NBA Merchandise Elements – Pop-a-shot setup,

2. Photo Zone Which will have a panel/ backdrop with NBA players and an empty space for people to stand and take photos. A number of props will also be provided like player masks, basketballs, beard, glasses etc. that students can use while clicking photos.
