Hindustan Chennai Retained the South Zone Title

CALICUT RUNNER UP

Tenhipallam 14 th 2016- December- Hindustan University Chennai defeated  M G university 86-78 in their last encounter in the league round to  claim the South Zone title as they finished winning all their matches in the league here at the . South Zone Inter University Basketball Championship for Women here at the Calicut university Indoor Stadium in Thennipalam.Calicut University Finished Runner Up with 2 Wins and  a Loss and MG with the  3rd Place winning 1 and losing 2 and Kannur in the Fourth Position making three from Kerala to qualify for the All India.

All Four have Qualified for the All India Inter University Basketball  to be held  KIIT, Bhubaneshwar from Dec 25-28, 2016

In the last encounter Calicut defeated  Kannur  51-32

Earlier in the morning when the league round ends Kozhikode and MG ended with a Mixed fortunes as   Kozhikode Lost to Hindustan 78-84  and Won  over  M G University  78-64  while MG Won their match against Kannur 77-36  while Hindustan prevailed over Kannur University whith the score 78-66 to register their 2 straight victory in the four team league
