On the morning of Day 2, joint defending champions Tamil Nadu girls got off to a winning start after handily beating West Bengal 68-19. The Odisha girls also won their game today morning with a 48-14 drubbing of Puducherry. Joint defending boys’ champions Tamil Nadu fell to a 79-67 defeat against Chhattisgarh, who were led by Binod Rajak’s 16 points.

The level 2 boys’ games saw some close encounters that were decided in the final minutes. West Bengal edged past Uttarakhand 73-69 with a strong fourth quarter showing. The Goa boys came from behind against Telangana outscoring them in the third quarter to reclaim the lead and finish with a 65-59 win. Andhra Pradesh steamrolled Tripura (50-14), while Odisha registered a comfortable 71-52 win against Himachal Pradesh. Puducherry had a reason to cheer today morning as they registered their first win in the tournament in their match against Bihar that ended 69 to 56. Sathyavanam led the way for Puducherry with 29 points.
