CHHATTISGARH GIRLS TO MEET TAMIL NADU IN FINAL; MAD-HYA PRADESH WILL TAKE ON WINNERS OF CHHATTTISGARH & U PIN BOYS

Kerala Girls finish 7th and Boys 9th
Puducherry, 7th February 2016: Chhattisgargh Girls will take on tamil Nadu while Madhya Pradesh Boys will meet Chhattisgarh in the final of the 42nd Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship, for boys and girls here at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Puducherry

The first half belonged to Chhattisgarh as they built a lead going into halftime. But the Maharashtra girls came out firing on all cylinders in the second half, displaying a dominant third quarter led by their offensive star Shruti Bhosale (16 points), who drove to the basket with success. After losing the lead momentarily, Chhattisgarh fought their way back outscoring Maharashtra by 11 points in the fourth quarter. Elijabet Ekka put up yet another MVP-worthy performance with 30 points, leading her team to the 66-61 victory. Chhattisgarh girls have sealed a spot in the final of the sub-junior nationals for the third year in a row.

In the Second semi final in an evenly fought match Tamil Nadu had a good start an took an 8 points lead at the end of first quarter but Chhattisgargh fought back brilliantly in the second quarter to end the half time with 26-26 and took and 3 point lead in the end of 3rd quarter – before finishing the match with the score 70- 57 pavithra sree came as the top scorer for tamil nadu with 20 points

In men first semi final defending champion Madhya Pradesh after leading 30-29 at the half time came on to beat Rajasthan 59-26 with pankaj leading the individual score tally for Madhya Pradesh with 25 points ?in second semi finalchhattissgarh boys also fins d aplace in the final beating Uttar pradesh 70-49 ?

Kerala girls finish 7th and boys on 9th

In the losers knock out matches defending champion Kerala girls had to satisfy with a 7th position as they beat Haryana 52-36 while the boys who beat karnaka came in the 9th position

Chhattisgarh-girls-to-Meet-Tamil-Nadu-in-final2Earlier Tamil Nadu girls clinched the final semi-final spot, defeating the Uttar Pradesh side by 16 points. Pavitra Sree led the charge yet again for Tamil Nadu scoring a game-high 25 points. Tamil Nadu led throughout the game and cruised to a 60-44 victory. They will face the Madhya Pradesh girls today evening for a place in the final.

After the classification games today morning The loser knockout finals also took place today morning with Punjab winning in the girls’ category beating Chandigarh and West Bengal winning the boys’ category defeating Punjab.
