YOUTH BASKETBALL TITLE FOR KOTTAYAM & ALAPUZHA GIRLS

Koratty – 16th Aug 2016- Kottayam Boys and Alappuzha Girls took the boys and girls title respectively here at the 33rd edition of the Kerala Youth State Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls at the Twin floodlit Indoor Basketball Courts of Little flower HSS Koratty on Tuesday
In Boy’s final last year runner up Kottayam defeated Idukki who is Playing the final in the youth division for the first time in the history of Kerala Basketball with the score 72-47 and Alappuzha taking the girl’s title defeating last year runner up Kozhikode 72-53
Bronze for Thrissur and Ernakulam
In Girl’s 3rd Place match, Thrissur defeated Kottayam 54-30 while in Boys Ernakulum got better of Alappuzha with the score 71-63
Earlier In semi-final matches in boys Idukki showing its fine display in the championship dethroned Alapuzha 88-47 with short speedy Tom Jose again showing his class scoring 52 points for his team to make the final to meet Kottayam who had an easy victory over Ernakulam with the score 54-19
In Girls division Alappuzha girls who put up a combined effort with all the five players coming up with a double digit display defeated host Thrissur 95-56 to meet Kozhikode who defeated Kottayam 71-45
