FIBA U18 ASIA - INDIA LOSE FIRST CLASSIFICATION GAME AGAINST TAIPEI FACE PHILIPPINES TOMORROW TO DECIDE 7-8 POSITIONS

30th July 2016: After its historic run to the quarterfinals of the 24th FIBA Asia U18 Men’s Championship came to an end yesterday, India faced off against Chinese Taipei in the first of its two classification games for 5 to 8 positions. The fatigue of playing 7 matches in 9 days finally got to India’s starters, especially captain P Baladhaneshwar

This helped the power forward from Kerala Muhammad Shiraz who played only for 14 minutes utilised his opportunity to scored in double digits score of 12 points and 2 rebounds for India . then the other Keralite Gineeb Benny who came as the Top scorer for India in yesterday’s match against Lebanon with 19 points today again shown his class was the top rebounder of India with 8 rebounds and also scored 8 points as he plays 35 minutes for the team

India plays its final 7th-8th classification position game tomorrow, against another Group A side, Philippines. The match tips off at 1pm IST.
