FLAWLESS INDIAN U18 MEN

Thiruvalla 3rd June 2016: The Indian U18 men’s basketball team made its rising aspirations clear with a dominant final round robin league victory over Nepal with the score 117-40 in the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) U18 Championship 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. As winners in the South Asian region, the team qualified for the 24th Edition of FIBA Asia Championship to be held in Tehran, Iran from 15th to 24th July 2016

Lead by P Baladhaneshwar from Tamil Nadu and Coached by J P Singh the defending champion, in the four-nation event India Who defeated Bangladesh 90-31 then Sri Lanka 127-52 came on to meet Nepal who also defeated Bangladesh 57-54 then scrape past Sri Lanka 65-64 to Meet India in the Final league round Muhammed Shiras N from St Ephremes HSS Mannanam and Gineeeb Benny from Little Flower HSS Koratty are the representation of Kerala in the team.

 

Gineeb The Second Highest Scorer for India At SABA

6 feet 4 inches tall and lanky Gineeb Benny who also from the cradle of Basketball Little flower HSS Koratty came as the second best scorer for India contributing 48 points from 3 matches just behind the top scorer P Baladhaneshwar who contributed 51 points from 3 matches .Gineeb Scores 12 against Bangladesh, 21 against Sri Lanka & 15 against Nepal.
