Thiruvalla 13th April 2016 :- The Newly Built Pilicode Panchayath Maidan in Kalikadavu, Kasargod is all set for the 40th edition of the Kerala Junior State Basketball Championship for Junior Men and Junior Women will be organised by Kasargod District Basketball Association under the auspicious of Kerala Basketball Association from 15th – 19th April 2016 . the championship will officially get inaugurated on 15th April 2016 by the Honourable MP of Kasragosd P Karunakaran
This five-day Championship which is a prelude to the 67th Junior National Basketball Championship to be held at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Pondicherry from 1-8 May 2016 will be held in two basketball courts part from the New stadium Govt HSS Pilicode also witness some league matches . All fourteen District have confirmed their participation including the defending champions Thiruvananthapuram (boys) and Thrissur (girls) .The Kerala state Junior Basketball team to participate in the junior nationals will be selected from this Championship
The Championship will be played on a league cum knockout format where the teams are divided into Four Pools with top three teams from Pool A and B , One each from C & D will qualify for the Knockout stage
Junior Men
- Group A;-T hriuvanthapuram,Thrissur,Alapuzha and Kozhikode
- Group B:- Kottayam Ernakulum ,Idukki and Malapuram
- Group C:-Pathanamthitta,Kasrgod & Palakkad
- Group D:- Kannur ,Kollam and Wayanad
Junior Women
- Group A;-,Thrissur,Kannur , Ernakulum and Alapuzha
- Group B:- Kozhikode ,Kottayam T hriuvanthapuram and Pathanamthitta
- Group C:-Kollam ,Kasrgod & Wayanad
- Group D:- Idukki, PAlakkad and Malapuam
