Tiruvalla 19th May 2016: Sanjayan Kumar IFS, Director Sports & Youth affairs will Inaugurate the 43rd Kerala State Sub-Junior Basketball Championships For Boys & Girls 2016 here at Christ Central School Thiruvalla on 21st May 2016 at 4.00 Pm.

This Five day Championship which will be organised by the Christ Central School ,Thiruvalla in association with Pathanamthitta District Basketball Association under the auspicious of Kerala basketball Association at the Christ Central School Flood Lit Basketball ground & at Public Stadium Thiruvalla .An organising Committee under Dr Sriram Venkitraman IAS ,Sub-Collector of Thiruvalla are working hard for the successful conduct of this championship .The teams are divided into Four Groups and will be played on a league cum Knockout Basis 13 Districts in Boys and 12 in Girls will be participating in this Championship The state Team to participate in the National sub Junior Championship to be held in Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium Hyderabad from 1 to 7 will be selected from this Championship. Kottayam in boys section and Kozhikode in Girls Division at are the reigning Champions, Two teams from each pool will qualify for the Knockout stage.

RECEPTION TO WOMEN FEDERATION CUP CHAMPIONS & SILVER MEDALLIST IN JR MEN

Kerala Basketball Association will be honoring the Kerala Women’s team winners of the at the 30th Federation Cup Basketball Championship held in Goa and the Kerala boys team who won a Silver Medal after a gap of 19years at the 67th Junior National Basketball Championship held at Puducherry.

The presence of Jeena P S the fifth Best shooter at the recently concluded Asian Championship along with Sr Indian Internationals Stephy Nixon, Anjana P G , Neenumol PS and Jr Internationals Elizabeth Hillarios, Youth Internationals Vimmy Varkey, Vinaya Joseph will add colour to the opening day.
