The National Basketball Association (NBA). NBA Jam 3-on-3 tournament ever held in India, with more than 3,500 teams participating. In Kerla it will take place at CMI Public School on 20th March 2016 and at Kozhikode to Devagiri CMI Public School , Near Medical College Kozhikode

The traveling interactive basketball festival is focused on growing and eliciting participation in basketball across India by combining exciting on-court competition with interactive games and contests designed to engage college youth and grow the NBA’s fan base. More than 1000 colleges across India will be engaged in order to drive awareness and generate registration for NBA Jam powered by Jabong.com. NBA talent, including a legend, dunk team and India’s ace EDM DJs, will travel to select cities to engage fans

General

  • Participation in NBA Jam powered by Jabong.com (the “Tournament”) is open to all current year college/university students (i.e., students currently enrolled at a tertiary educational institution) in India who meet the Age Cut-Off requirements herein, provided that if such participant is a minor (i.e., 17 years of age and younger) the written permission of his/her parent or legal guardian shall also be required in order to participate in the Tournament.
  • Employees and immediate family members of NBA India Basketball Private Limited, NBA Properties, Inc., NBA Media Ventures, LLC, the National Basketball Association (the “NBA”), the NBA member teams and each of their respective affiliates (collectively, the “NBA Entities”), Multi Screen Media Private Limited (“Sony Six”) and Jade eServices Private Limited (“Jabong”) are not eligible to enter the Tournament. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary.
  • A participating team shall consist of a minimum of three (3) and maximum of four (4) team members.
  • Team members do not necessarily need to be enrolled at the same college/university.
  • All team members will need to produce government recognized age proof (Driving License/PAN/Birth Certificate/Passport) along with college identity cards to confirm their participation in the Tournament.
  • In order to be eligible to participate in the Tournament, all participants will be required to sign a release and waiver form which will be available at the registration desk on the event day.
  • A team will be disqualified for failing to produce valid age and college identity proof.
  • The Tournament is open to all colleges from across India and is not restricted to the cities where the Tournament is being conducted.
  • Coaching is not allowed during the Tournament.
  • Coaches or trainers are not allowed to the team bench. Also, they are not allowed to coach from anywhere else on the court.
  • Once a team has registered on the portal, a confirmation e-mail will be sent by the Tournament organizers to the e-mail address mentioned on the registration form within 72 hours.
  • Participants may opt to receive recommendations, promotional offers and sales alerts at their registered email address.
  • The organizers of the Tournament will email information at regular intervals. Hence, we recommend that teams check their registered email account regularly for updates and information on the Tournament.

  • Participation team number and waitlisted teams
  • Each Tournament city will allow for a maximum participation of 200 teams. The teams will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once the slots have been filled, all further teams will be placed on the waitlist and duly informed of the same.

Age cut-off for participants (“Age Cut-Off”)

Boys (Age 16 - 24) January 1, 1991 - December 31, 1999
Girls (Age 16 - 24) January 1, 1991 - December 31, 1999
  • Waitlisted teams will be given an opportunity to participate if any of the confirmed teams is disqualified or no show or withdraws from participation for any reasons.
  • Waitlisted teams will need to be present at the venue at time of the announcement if they are to be allowed to compete in the Tournament.
  • Waitlisted teams will be given an opportunity to compete on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Disqualification:-

  • All the players of the team must fall within the Age Cut-Off. The entire team will be disqualified if any player is found to be of an invalid age.
  • Each team player needs to fill in all the required details in the registration form. Any incomplete details shall lead to disqualification of the team. Organizer’s and NBA’s decision is final and binding on all teams. Additional Terms and Conditions

  • The participation of any person in the Tournament may be terminated, without prior notice, at any time and for any reason by the NBA in its sole and absolute discretion. The NBA’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  • In the event of a dispute, any person’s entitlement to participate in the Tournament and/or receive any prize is subject to the sole discretion and final determination of the NBA.
  • Participants (and, if applicable, the parent/legal guardian of a participant) shall be deemed as making the following representations if they register for the Tournament:

(a) The participant will abide by all rules, procedures and conditions for participation in the Tournament, which will be determined by NBA in its sole discretion.

(b) The information participant (and, if applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian) provided for registration is accurate and valid. The participant will present the government identification used for registration to NBA to prove the authenticity of participant’s age and identity before checking in for the Tournament. Participant shall be disqualified from the Tournament if Participant fails to do so.

(c) Participant is in good physical condition and able to participate in the Tournament.

(d) Participant does not violate any laws or regulations or the rights of any third party by participating in the Tournament.

(e) Participant (and, if applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian) fully appreciates the potential risks of the Tournament, including the risks of bodily injury. Participant (and, if applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian) is willing to participate in (or, if applicable, willing to permit participant to participate in) the Tournament and expressly and knowingly accepts all potential risk of injury.

(f) Participant (and, if applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian) assumes all risks and consequences arising from participating in the Tournament. Participant (and, if applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian) agrees not to hold NBA Entities, Sony Six, Jabong or any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, governors, owners, distributors, retailers, agents, assignees, advertising/promotion agencies, representatives, agents, designees and assigns liable for any losses, damages or expenses participant suffer from the Tournament.

Except as may be required by applicable law, the NBA Entities make no warranties about any prize offered as part of the Tournament, including warranties as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of such prize.

Prizes cannot be transferred, assigned, redeemed for cash, substituted, or altered, except by the NBA at its sole discretion, due to prize unavailability, and then the prize may be substituted for one of comparable or similar value. Particular prizes may be subject to change. Participants and winners (and his/her parent/legal guardian) are solely responsible for all applicable taxes and all other expenses not specified herein.

By participating in the Tournament and providing any information, personal or otherwise, to the NBA Entities, participant (and his/her parent/legal guardian) is deemed to have given written permission and consent for the NBA Entities to collect, analyse, share and disclose the information to third parties and partners and/or otherwise use without any liability to the individual any personal information relating to the participant. The NBA Entities have the sole discretion to use the information for the purposes of marketing, planning, promotions, research, events and/or any other purposes and programs henceforth.

  • Participants (and his/her parent/legal guardian) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and agree that: (a) the NBA Entities may use (unless prohibited by law) participant’s name, voice, city/state/country of residence, photographs, video or film clips, and/or other visual likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes and/or for any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation (financial or otherwise), permission or notification; and (b) the NBA Entities, Sony Six, Jabong and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, governors, owners, distributors, retailers, agents, assignees, advertising/promotion agencies, representatives, agents, designees and assigns shall have no liability and will be released and held harmless from any claim, action, liability, loss, injury or damage, including, without limitation (but subject to operation of law), personal injury or death to participant or any third party or damage to personal or real property due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by any reason, including the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize and/or participation in the Tournament.
  • Photo / video uploads of the Tournament to social media by any participants (and his/her parent/legal guardian) must not contain nudity, profanity, racism or violence in any form.
  • It is a condition of accepting any prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize imposed by the NBA or any third party or prize supplier. The NBA reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the NBA has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the Tournament. The NBA Entities’ legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
  • In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the NBA’s ability to proceed with the contest on the dates and in the manner described in these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the NBA may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any requirements of applicable law.
  • The NBA reserves the right to revise these Terms and Conditions, and any aspect of the Tournament (including but not limited to its structure, scope, content, rules and prizes) at any time and without notice. Participation in the Tournament shall constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and any amendments thereof.
