KERALA JR MEN IN TO THE FINAL AFTER A GAP OF 19YEARS

Puducherry, 7th May 2016: Kerala Jr men making the final after a gap of 19 years as they beat Delhi 72-68 at the first Semi final of the 67th Junior National Basketball Championship organised by the Puducherry Basketball Association (PBA), under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the city.

Kerala in Jr men in an evenly contested match trailed 29-30 at the end of First half and again went out of the hands as Delhi increased the lead to 53- 37 by the end of third quarter but the third quarter saw Kerala’s fighting quality as they scored 35 points in the last quarter as of 15 by Delhi captain prem rose on to the occasion scoring 15 points in the last quarter along with Hari Krishnan and Akhil B who came as a substitute in the last quarter made a useful 6 points for the sweet victory Prem came as the top scorer with 27points followed by Hari Krishnan and Shiras making 10 points each for the victory Kerala Men will now take on the winners of Tamil Nadu and Haryana match.

Kerala Jr Women also had a Good run today as they drubbed Delhi with the score 76-33 and now will face Haryana for the 5th Position match.
