KSEB WOMEN & IOB CHENNAI CROWNED THE FEASTO TROPHY

Kerala State Electricity Board Trivandrum women & IOB Men grabbed the Feasto All India Basketball tournament as the women fashioned a wonderful victory over Southern Railway Chennai with the score 71-52 while in over Vijaya Bank with the score 75-52 here at the VK Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium in Kozhikode on Sunday

KSEB riding on with three senior Internationals Jeena PS, Stephy Nixon and Anjana PG started with a 17-11 lead at the first quarter against Southern railway which was revamped with the addition of experienced International Anitha P who joined today with the Internationals Apoorva Muralinath and Rajapriyadaarshini in the team could not hold on to a fast paced KSEB who kept the lead 44-38 at the end of first half but the 3rd quarter saw Southern railway making a fight back with equal scoring but could not hold on to it in the last quarter were KSEB rested their ace player Jeena PS who was off color but the quarter saw some excellent basket from others with Stephy , Anjana rising on to the occasion for EB while the ball handler Shilji giving the duo an excellent support with some good outside shooting for KSEB Anjana and Stephy came as the top scorer scoring 18 points each followed by Shilji Geroge with 11 and Jeena PS making10 for the victory and for Southern railway Apoorva Muralinath came as the top scorer with 18 points to her credit.

In Men IOB which came with an array of Internationals came on to beat Vijaya bank 75-52 after leading 49-32 at half time with Sivabalan who with 18 points as top scorer followed by Aravind making 16 for Vijaya Bank Aravind came as the top scorer with 19 points followed by Clinton Coming Up With 12 Points

Prasanna Venkitesh of IOB in men while in women Anjana P G from KSEB grabbed the Most valuable Player Award of the tournament and received rs 10,000/ each as cash award
The trophies and Mementoes and a cash award of rs 60,000/ to the winners ad rs 40000 to the runner up were distributed by Ahamed Chairman of Malabar groups in women section and in Men division by A Pradeep Kumar MLA
