KERALA BOYS IN TO THE SEMI FINAL GIRLS FAIL

Puducherry, 6th May 2016: Kerala Jr men had an authentic victory over Maharashtra as they beat them with the score 72-46 and march on to the Semifinal while the jr Women dissatisfied as they lost to Tamil Nadu 36-63 in the quarter-finals here for the 67th Junior National Basketball Championship organised by the Puducherry Basketball Association (PBA), under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the city.

In the jr, Men Kerala had a good start of 20-9 and lead 32-11 at the half time . for Kerala Muhammad Shiras again came as the top scorer scoring 19 points and he was evenly supported by Hari Krishnan also scoring 19 points and captain prem Prakash making 15 points. Tamil Nadu Men also made the and as they scrap past Punjab 86-84.

The Girls quarter final was an disappointed one as Kerala fought an even contest in the first quarter and until the half but missing the basket in the later stage and lost to Tamil Nadu with the score 36-63 in the other quarter-final Maharashtra overcome Haryana 71-62 Haryana yesterday defeated Tamil Nadu.
