46th Sub Junior National Basketball Championship  for Boys and Girls from 3rd to 9th 2019 September Venue :- Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium & Indoor Complex Barabati Stadium ,Cuttack · The 46th Sub junior National Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls tipped off this morning at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, in Cuttack · The opening ceremony was held in the evening with Dr Achhyuta Samanta Hon MP of Kandhana as chief guests, and numerous other guests of honour and special invitees. The Championship, hosted by the Odisha Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India, Morning Session In the morning matches so far, defending champions Uttar Pradesh Boys have opened with an 59-52 win over Karnataka while Rajasthan and Punjab boys had also victorious as they beat Andhra Pradesh (86-36) and Bihar (59-23) respectively Mizorm also made the presence felt drubbing Goa (89-1) and in other boys matches Telenagana beat Utharkhand(69-21) Gujarath beat Manipur(45-39) Kerala beat Puducherry(47-4) Haryana bt Tamil Nadu (66-34). In girls defending champions Punjab taste the defeat against Karnataka 48-58 while delhi defeated Chhattisgarh (49-35) and in other matches in girls division Maharashtra got better of Haryana(64-19) Telengana beat Utharkhand(39-8) Gujarath beat Manipur(35-6) Chandigarh bt Andhra Pradesh (36-16) Tamil Nadu bt Rajasthan(65-15). Opening Ceremony The opening ceremony was in the afternoon, after a colorful march past by the states was officially declared open by Shri Ashirbad Behera Hon Secretary Odisha Athletic Association at fuction welcomed by Asok Kumar Sahu Presdent Odhisa Basketball Association and concluded with the vote of Thanks by Gyanaranjan Parida the organizing secretary adding color to the function was the presence of Olympian DP Irani and also representing the Basketball Federation of India were Mr. Ajay Sud, Mr. Jugraj Singh, Mr. Devender Kumar, Dr. D.S. Kharab, Mr. Shakti Sinh Gohil, Mr. Devendar SIngh Shekhawat, Fr. Ralin D' Souza.
