MIZORAM BOYS AND TAMIL NADU GIRLS EMERGE DESERVING CHAMPIONS OF 46TH SUB JUNIOR NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Mizoram Boys and Tamil Nadu Girls emerge deserving Champions
Cuttack, 8th September 2019: Tamil Nadu Girls and Mizoram Boys won the finals of the 46th Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship taking place, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium & Indoor Complex Barabati Stadium Cuttack.
Tamil Nadu won the Girls final as they beat Maharashtra 85-67. In the finals, both the teams came to the occasion prepared and were neck and neck at the end of the first quarter 18-18 Tamil Nadu took a slender lead, 32-30 at the lemon break. The intensity changed in the Third quarter as Tamil Nadu increased their lead 65-43 at the third quarter J Antheya Daisy doing all destruction for Maharashtra as she top scored for Tamil Nadu with 31 points.
Mizoram won the boys final as they beat Punjab 51-46. The boys finals was an evenly contested one as Mizoram boys with clinical perfection moving for every basket. The game which saw lead changing time to time. The first quarter saw Punjab leading 13-12 but Mizoram fought back and ended the Interval with a one point lead with score 22-21. The third quarter saw Punjab pushing up the score and made it 35-34, but the Mizoram boys didn’t let Punjab to dominate as they have the last laugh winning the championship for Mizoram. Emmanel top scored with 17 points.
Bronze for Karnataka girls and Maharashtra Boys
Karnataka Girls defeated Delhi 56-34 while in boys Maharashtra scrape past Haryana 75-73 to claim the Bronze position.
Kerala Girls and Tamil Nadu Boys Finished 5th
Kerala Girls completed the Championship finishing 5th as they beat Punjab with the score 43-25 while in boys Tamil Nadu defeated Chhattisgarh 65-54.
Late last evening on Sunday at the 46th Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship, the Mizoram defeated Maharashtra 91-65 while Punjab beat Haryana 61-53.
