Kerala & Uttar Pradesh men and Women in to the Semi Mixed Fortune for Punjab and Tamil Nadu to the semi final berths:

Patna 22nd October 2019: The knockout stage began today at the 70th Junior National Basketball Championship in Patna as both Men and Women from Kerala and Uttar Pradesh find their berth in Semi Finals while Tamil Nadu and Punjab had a Mixed fortune as Tamil Nadu women and Punjab Men have only made the Semi Finals . In the Semi final in women Kerala will take on Tamil Nadu while Kerala Men will take on Punjab Uttar Pradesh men will meet Rajasthan while the Women will meet Chhattisgarh in the Semi Finals The morning session began with the quarterfinals in Men Uttar Pradesh scrape past Tamil Nadu team 83-80 after trailing 40-51 at the Interval as they came back in the 3rd Quarter getting the lead 66-44 . Priyanshuu. top scored for Uttar Pradesh with 32 points and led the team to a spot in the semi-finals to be played tomorrow. In the 3rd Quarter finals in Men Rajsthan had an easy victory over Chhattisgarh with the score reading 64-33 Rajveer Singh agin the top scorer with 20 points for rajasthan In the second Match the 1st quarter in women Kerala used their full bench to beat Gujarat 66-36 with Nandana scores the highest for the team with 12 points similarly in the third match the second quarter final in Men the tall lanky Punjab made short work against Maharashtra to beat with the score 91-49 with Princepal sing scoring top for Punjab with15 points In the last encounter Kerala after leading 36-24 at the Interval came on to beat Madhya Pradesh 61-50 for Aaron Varghese was the leading scorer with 10 points

Chhattisgarh stuns Punjab Women

Coming from the Lower group Chhattisgarh stun Punjab as they scrape past with the Score 57-53 Punjab Started the Proceeding leading 18-12 at the 1st Quarter but whole complexion changed in the second quarter and twisted in favour of Chhattisgarh who took a 19-7 lead in that quarter, making first half ending up with 31-25 lead for Chhattisgarh Neha Varma lead the scoring with 18 points and Elizabaeth Ekka contributing 14 points Harismran Kaur was the leading scorer for Punjab with 16 points Earlier in the morning women’s pre-quarterfinals. Madhya Pradesh beat Rajsthan59-38 and Chhattisgarh beat Hariyana 74-42 to make the Quarter final In Men Madhya Pradesh beat Karnataka 69-49 while Chhattisgarh defeated Delhi 66-52 to reach the Quarter Final
