Day One of the second NBA Academy India Women’s Camp saw the 24 campers go through drills that included Stationary finger-tip ball handling, change of speed ball handling. The campers were then divided into three groups to focus on volume shooting using different techniques like using a jab and shot fake to create a shot, shooting footwork using curls and flares, moves and counter moves to finishing with contact at various shooting stations.
Post lunch, the campers were divided into three teams to enter a team shooting competition that included shooting from five spots, transition shooting and Olympic shooting. With the day concluded with team practice leading into 5v5 games. Shooting, ball handling and ball possession was the focus point of Day 1 of the camp.

Day 2 of the second NBA Academy India Women’s camp commenced this morning at The NBA Academy India in Greater Noida. The 24 top female prospects took the court to learn from 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist and Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame member Jennifer Azzi and former college coach Blair Hardiek.

The focus of the day 2 of the program was on Position work and Screening. The day started with campers going through drills on full court transition ball handling, guard footwork series, partner Mikan 2 ball among other things. Post lunch, the 24 campers sat through a Life Skills session followed by full court shooting practice, live action situations in Screening and Guard/ Post competitions.

The camp led by Azzi concluded with 5v5 Games as the campers were divided in three teams, i.e. Storm, Mystics and Mercury.

“With the second edition of the camp being held here, players understand the opportunity that is there for them. With Sanjana paving the way after coming through the last camp, she can be a role model for all the campers here.,” said Azzi.

The campers returned for the third day of the camp on Jan 24 at 10:00 AM IST.
