DR JOHN M CHACKO : AN AVID SPORTS LOVER AND THE CHIEF PATRON OF KERALA BASKETBALL IS NO MORE

It's with profound grief, we inform you all the sad demise of the Chief Patron of Kerala Basketball Association  who played a leading role in Developing Kerala basketball and Founder Director of Laurels School International, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. John M Chacko  at the age of 68 on Tuesday  in  Indore .

.Despite his towering stature as a renowned academician and managerial field expert, he has contributed immensely to the game of basketball in Kerala and has always stood as the strong backbone of it serving it with a purpose at every opportunity to promote the game.

The cremation will take place  in Indore on 15th September 2021 at Laural School Campus at 12 noon

Later his mortal remains will be flown from Indore and buried  at St.Johns Marthoma church

Pattathanam , Kollam Kerala at 10 am  on Friday 

He w as survived by his Wife Jaya Chacko and the only daughter Jennifer Chacko who is married to Major Abinav Thakkarae

Kerala Basketball Association cannot forget his contribution as when ever  Our State team wins he was there with his cash  prises and mementoes  for them and when  there in  Madhya Pradesh he never forget to call every one of us in his house and to have our experience  in some Star Hotels His Contribution never ends he was always there with help on every State Championship

Kerala Basketball Fraternity pays its most respectful homage and joins his family and friends in prayers on his deep loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace

 

About Dr. Chacko

Dr. John M. Chacko was an expert in management culture with proven record of achievements with different industries and educational institutions all over India.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Commerce coupled with a Master’s in Psychology and was a Blue-Ribbon holder in MBA from the Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.  Professionally he was a qualified Cost Accountant with AICWA to his credit. 

For his unparalleled and modern research work on management concepts ‘Detached Involvement in Management’, he was conferred with a Doctorate in Management by the University of Bombay.

 

His vision of starting an ideal school, compelled him to give up an illustrious career as Vice President (Administration) with Johnsons & Johnson, Mumbai. With this vision he laid the foundation of Laurels School International at Indore in the year 1989.  Laurels School International now stands prestigiously as one of the leading schools in Indore with International accreditation through the ICSE Board, New Delhi, the first and only school in western MP affiliated to the ICSE Board.

 

In the year 1996 he started his management institute Laurels School of Management to impart management training to working executives and Managers. Recognizing his valuable contribution to the field of management education, Dr. Chacko was conferred with the prestigious ‘Jewel of India’ citation by the International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi, in the year 2001.

He was also associated with various nationalized Banks as their CMC (Covenant Management Consultant) at their western and eastern regions.                                                                                                                       

Dr. Chacko was also a visiting faculty/consultant to various Industries and Educational Institutions all over India.  He had covered a vast range of subjects and topics on Modern Management, Educational Management, Human Resource Management, Abnormal Human Psychology, Industrial/ Organizational/ Corporate Psychology.

Dr. Chacko was also actively associated with professional bodies like the -

Computer Society of India ( Life member), Society for Abnormal Psychology (Exe. member), Psytec Management Consultant (Exe.Director),   Marthoma College of Management and Technology, Perumbavoor (Board Member), St. Thomas Society for Higher Education, Thiruvalla (Managing Board Member) to name a few.

Dr. Chacko was an excellent educationist, trainer, and trouble shooter.  He had also represented various interview panels as a psycho analyst, subject matter expert and group observer in educational institutions and industries. He had also groomed management students, college, school students, teachers, and professors to accept challenges at various levels through Finishing school methods at different institutions.

He had traveled all over the world on invitation and conducted seminars, conferences and had delivered key-note lectures on modern management topics and techniques.

Dr. Chacko was also known for his warm and humane demeanor which would now be forever etched as memorable experiences, for all those who have been associated with him during his lifetime.

A life and a lifetime which would surely be celebrated for the persona that he was. And he will continue to live on surely as an integral part of the multitude of student lives that he had touched upon while he trod here.
