AUSTRALIA CLAIM SECOND CONSECUTIVE FIBA U16 ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP INDIA BEAT KOREA FOR FIRST TIME IN U16 ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 5TH SPOT

FINAL Ranking Now 1st Australia 2nd Japan, 3rd new Zealand 4th Lebanon 5th India 6th South Korea 7th Philippines 8th  Iran 9th Qatar 10th Kazakhstan

DOHA (Qatar) – India create history as they   beat South Korea 90-80  at the FIBA U16 Asian Championship to claim 5th .This was the 4th time that these two teams have played against each other in the U16 Asian Championship and the first time that India emerged victorious. At 5th, this is also the highest Final Standing by any Indian team in the U16 Asian Championship, the previous record being 10th place in 2009 and 2011.

Outside of Australia, Korea has had the most success in the U16 Asian Championships and the most experience playing in the U17 Basketball World Cup among the teams competing in Doha

Meanwhile, India has had outstanding performances from their stars as we

ll, whether it’s Lokendra Singh, Kushal Singh, or Jaideep Rathore. They’ve already made it as far as any Indian team has gone and a U17 Basketball World Cup berth would be the sweet icing on the cake if they can make it there.

For 7 to 8th placing match India in an extra time thriller defeated Iran 83-78 and again for the 5th and 6th spot match beat Korea 90-80
