The Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program tipped off at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi today with “Train The Trainers” program headed by Scott Flemming from the USA former Indian Coach and now the operational Head of NBA in India

Returning for the fifth consecutive year, the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program started with“Train The Trainers” Programme in Kochi on 18th concluded at Silver Hill Basketball Indoor Stadium in Kozhikode with more than 300 school participating in it.

We are grateful to the NBA for sharing their world-class expertise and resources, and to the schools, coaches and physical education instructors who continue to support this initiative.

The program, which remains free for participants, will include a train the trainer initiative for local coaches, elite training camps and 5 on 5 Tournaments for U12 and U14 finals in each city featuring 5-on-5 competitions.

NBA International Basketball Operations staff will be based in each of the cities for three months to oversee the program. Each participating school have received essential equipment to encourage and facilitate participation among its students,youth-oriented including an India-specific coaching guide with curricula for in-school and after-school programs, basketballs, cones, and a Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA T-shirts In addition, each participating city will host three youth-oriented basketball festivals featuring mini hoops for kids aged 6-14.
