INDIA AND SYRIA IN TO THE SEMI FINALS IN GROUP B

BENGALURU (FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Championship 2018
On Tuesday, the Indian team advanced to the semifinals of Division B of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Championship with three wins against Iran73-65, Singapore 79-49and Guam 107-42 and Syria with three wins against Hong Kong, Kazakisthan and Samoa. On Friday India will now take on the winners of Hong Kong and Singapore while Syria will meet the winners of Iran and Khazakisthan in the Semifinal Clash.
India on their last league match defeated Singapore 79-49 after a lead of 38-25 a the Interval forward Gulabsha led India with 21 points, The top placed team from division B gets promoted to Division A for the 2020 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women. The bottom-placed team from division A gets relegated to division B for the 2020 championships.
The FIBA U-18 Asian Championship comprises of eight teams each, in Division A and Division B. Teams from Division A compete for the title and to secure their qualification for the 2019 FIBA U-19 World Cup.
In Group A Korea and Japan Upset higher ranked Australia and China to make themselves to the Semifinal
In an eventful round of final group phase action, Korea and Japan are directly through to the semifinals and have also secured berths in the 2019 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup. Korea made history by posting its first-ever win over Australia in the Asian Championship, beating the fancied Oceania side 63-62, in a thrilling Group A encounter. Later in the day, China and Japan stayed neck and neck in the first twenty minutes before Japan went on a decisive 29-16 third-quarter run to seal the surprisingly comfortable 94-79 victory. In the Semi-Final Japan will meet the winners of Australia and New Zealand while Korea will meet the winners of China and Chenees Thaipai in the Semifinal.
