Kozhikode Thrissur Post Victory on the Opening Day here on the opening day of the 62nd Edition of Kerala State Senior Basketball Championship for Men and women at St Marys School Flood lit Basketball Ground, mullankolly organized by Wayanad District Basketball Association under the aegis of Kerala Basketball Association.

In men matches Kozhikode represented by Players from central Excise Kochi beat Kannur73-60 and Thrissur had an easy victory over Malpauram71-20 and Idukki got better of Kasargod 52-43

In women Malapuram beat host wayanad 38-13, Ernakulam beat Kasargod 25-16

It will mark as the prelude of the Senior Nationals championship for men & women to be held at Chennai, from 17th to 24th January 2018. Players to represent Kerala at the Senior Nationals will be selected on the basis of their performance in the State Championship.

Teams from all 14 districts from the state will vie for the honors in men as well as in women . This 6 day Championship will feature 54 matches from morning 6 am and evening at 3 pm onwards are scheduled to be played on a league cum Knock out Basis on two Basketball Courts ST marys School mullankolly and the 2nd one at pazhassi raja college Mullankolly.
