PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
Consequent on the formation of the Pathanamthitta Revenue District Comprising areas of Kollam and Alleppey Districts during 1982, the Basketball enthusiasts of the area convened a meeting on 20-11-1982 at Charalkunnu under the Chairmanship of Sri. V.E. Easow, Rtd. Principal, Physical Education College, Trivandrum and formed Pathanamthitta Dist. Basketball Association The house elected Prof. Raju Abraham and Dr. M.M. Chacko as President and Secretary respectively and requested KBA for affiliation. Sri. Jose V. Mathew and Prof. V.E. Easow were nominated to KBA and DSC respectively.
KBA in its meeting at Tellicherry on 12-12-82 had given temp. affiliation for one year and appointed Prof. P.K.S. Naidu as the observer of the District Association. As per his report KBA in its meeting on 20-11-83 at Hotel Swagath Kottayam unanimously gave permanent affiliation to PDBA.

Kerala Sports Council has allotted one Sports Hostel for Boys at M.T.H.S, Kurianur.
Dr. M.M. Chacko was the Vice President of BFI from 1994 to 2002. He was the General Secretary of KBA from 1993 to 2001. Sri. George Thomas is the Convener of Technical Commission. Sri. Raju Abraham and K.V. Alexander are NIS Coaches. More than 12 referees are assisting KBA & DBA in various capacities.
Sri. Samuel Thomas, V.E. Easow, P.O. John, T.C. Koshy, Raju Abraham, Dr. M.M. Chacko, Lesli Philip, Alex Mammen, Koshy Thomas, K.C. Jacob, Rawthar, Zachariah Oomen, K.V. Alexander, Reji Cherian, Alexander John, Jose. V. Mathew, Mrs. Rajamma Jacob etc. are instrumental in promoting the game in Pathanamthitta.
PDBA has implemented project Basketball (a) Pathanamthitta successfully by supplying Mini Boards Mini Balls and trained Coaches to 8 L.P.Schools. This project is widely accepted and more members of students are attracted to this game
